+The Carré cut — a step-cut square stone — rose to popularity during the Art Deco period, from the mid-1870s through the 1930s. Celebrated for its clean geometry and sharp lines, its hall-of-mirrors effect echoes the parallelity of an emerald cut, perfectly capturing the era’s crisp aesthetic ideals. (“Carré" comes from the French word for square.) The cut itself remains rare, most often found in vintage and antique pieces. In this case, the faceting pattern appears in rectangular stones.
+Antique stones are shaped by hand and time, resulting in singular gems. No two are exactly alike— a matched set will feature subtle variations in cut, color, and brilliance, creating an intentional, innate harmony.
+Abbigail is devoted to sourcing distinctive gems, and each piece is made in an edition of one. If a jewel has already found its home, we will recreate it to honor the original design while featuring your own unique stone.
